Handrail and Guardrail Inspections
Handrails and Guardrails are a popular choice for a safe means of working at height. They provide perfect edge protection for roof areas where access is required. It is a requirement in accordance with BSEN 13374, that any Handrail and Guardrail system used for Work at Height is inspected at least once every 12 months or immediately following the system being used in anger. Weather conditions can have a big impact on the integrity of the handrail, with volatile weather conditions being a major factor in causing rails to detach from there fixing points– it is therefore imperative to any user to visually inspect the system before use to spot any abnormalities, which may have occurred within the time period between the annual testing and inspection.
